Explore History

Children will be motivated to discover the true heroes in our world as Kristen teaches them that all of their favorite books have something in common with history.  From Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes and  Susan B. Anthony that pulled every one of her famous speeches out of a favorite purse. Or, The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats and Chester Greenwood the inventor of ear muffs. History can be fascinating when the people are doing cool things.

Improvisation

Students will crack up as Kristen teaches them how to be creative and get it on paper. From concept to finished product, Kristen will get the students involved and pulling ideas out of their pockets and onto paper, literally. Students will discover a whole new meaning for creative writing.

​Finding Your Direction

Understanding what makes nonfiction soar is key to selling your story. Learn how to find direction in picture books and make your story reach new heights. From that “golden nugget” to your “satisfying ending, create your own map for success. Participants will take their story that is in progress or an idea that has been researched to find their direction to move their story forward. ~ Intensive Class

Pricing    

All speaking engagements outside of the Orlando, Florida local area are responsible for travel expenses.
Flight,
Lodging, and
Daily Food per diem.

Transportation from and return to airport and any scheduled events.

$200 per hour Large Group presentation
$100 per hour Small group presentation

For Schools and Libraries:Kristen does not charge additional fees for time spent with students. Including, one-on-one, lunch, or autographs. After-all, it is about the children.


Kristen offers 15 minute FREE Skype visits with the release of new books. For single classrooms only.
